One former “Saved By The Bell” star is back in the spotlight this week. Elizabeth Berkley, who famously played Jessie Spano on the hit show until 1993, has officially hopped alongside Vanessa Minnillo and Jessica Simpson on the pregnant-celebrity bandwagon. Berkley revealed the exciting news as photos surfaced showing her bulging belly. Her announcement follows another exciting announcement this week: Vanessa Minnillo’s. Nick Lachey, Minnillo’s husband revealed the news to Kelly Rippa during “Live With Kelly! earlier this week.
Berkley revealed her pregnancy to People. “In life there are moments you cherish forever and this is one of them,” she told People and revealed that she and her husband Greg Lauren are expecting their first child together. The 39-year-old told the magazine that she’ll be expecting her first child this summer and couldn’t be more grateful and overjoyed. The couple exchanged vows back in 2003 at the Esperanza Hotel in Cabo San Lucas. She reportedly formally changed her name though uses her maiden name professionally. Mommy will be the newest role for Berkley who’s best known for playing the quirky character Jessie. Eventually, she left the show to break into film and went on to play Nomi Malone in Showgirls and appear in The First Wives Club and Armitage III: Poly Matrix.
Berkley has also reportedly appeared on stage numerous times including in the London version of Lenny as well as making her Broadway debut in Sly Fox. She also appeared in the 2005 Off Broadway production of Hurlyburly and took part in the sixth annual 24 Hour Plays. She’s also made her way back on television in recent years, guest-starring in CSI: Miami, NYPD Blue, Without A Trace, and Law & Order: Criminal Intent.
