California native and three-time Daytona 500 champ, Jeff Gordon is returning to his home state this month to race in the annual Auto Club 400
competition happening from March 23-25. The NASCAR pro checked in with
the K-EARTH 101 Morning Show to talk about the “wild, crazy, chaotic”
race at the past Daytona 500, plus tell us what goes through his mind
when he races, especially if he crashes. Jeff has the support of millions of fans as one of the most popular
professional NASCAR drivers in history, and he’s returning to his wide
fan base here in California for the Auto Club 400 race at the Auto Club
Speedway in Fontana.Jeff recapped this year’s Daytona 500, commenting that the “night races are really spectacular” and what it was like racing in front of a massive prime-time audience. Almost as many viewers who watched the Oscars tuned in for the Daytona 500 this year, which Jeff says was “one of those wild, crazy, chaotic races that just happened to be in front of a huge audience.” When asked if he has any fears going through his head when he gets into the driver’s seat for a race, Jeff confidentially replies that he can’t worry about fears. “You can’t be a race car driver if you’re worried about that. When I was flipping upside down in Daytona, there’s no doubt I was a little concerned at times,” said Jeff. “The instant you realize you can get out, you go ‘oh my gosh, I can’t wait to hug my kids and see them and make sure they know I’m okay.’” Jeff is taking the wheel this month for the Auto Club 400 race happening from March 23-25.
